You probably look at this picture and think “this family looks like a normal American family with no problems.” Although this picture is one of my favorites, it has been edited. We cleaned up the blowing hair in the face, took out the dog who kept trying to get in the photo (although I now see his tail – oops), and we added some tinting – which I hope it makes the parents look younger and full of energy! Right?
In reality, this group of six has been through a lot and I expect there will be more challenges to come. I have been married to my college sweetheart for over 30 years. We raised four amazing, challenging, stubborn, chatty, strong-willed, full of life kids while owning our own businesses. As entrepreneurs at heart we started a snowmobile and ATV rental business in the mountains of Colorado. 5 years later we opened another business: “Cameez”, an ice cream and coffee shop named after our youngest daughter. And while we were playing the crazy balancing act of running a business, and homeschooling ,and sometimes public schooling, my husband was also pastoring a church.
During these crazy years we lost a business, and struggled to keep another business out of the red. We watched our kids struggle with identity, and trying to make their faith their own. All the while learning about depression, ADHD, and having our faith challenged and stretched.
It was our relationship with Jesus Christ that sustained us through it all. It is our desire to bring the hope of this relationship into your home. We’ve experienced a lot in life and we want to share our journey with you. No one should go at this life alone. God created us all for relationships – we need each other. Scott and I want to help you and your family exchange your old way of life for something new!
Praying for you,
